I know many of you have been wondering how Mae's Friday has been and I'm sorry it has taken me till 4 to update, but we have had a very busy and exciting day!!!! We are busy praising God today since Mae is doing fabulous! Our morning started at 3:30 am with adding back her oxygen tubes, so it has been a long one, but an awesome one! After breakfast, Mae was ready for her third walk. The first one was from the side of the bed to the end of the bed and was very hard, the 2nd one got us right outside our room door, but this morning she pushed her new Rapunzel Build-a-Bear in the doll stroller 2 rooms down the hallway. Woohoo! Great progress. When the doctors and nurses made rounds about 10:30, her regular heart doctor wanted to pull out the oxygen, out her chest tube (that was draining blood from her chest to a box by the bed), pull her off the IV fluids, and encourage her to keep walking. She hasn't looked back since. As soon as the tube was removed from her chest, "chatty Cathy" came to live and the "real" Mae was back. She was able to sit up on her own, talk very well to EVERYONE that came to see her, and eat more food than she had been before. After lunch we had our 4th walk and made a huge loop around the heart ward! Everyone we passed was amazed that she had her Fontan 2 days earlier and was cruising around the hallways. Of course, she was pushing her baby doll stroller AND it had her leappad in the seat, by her bear, and it was playing her princess music. How appropriate! She has a tea party scheduled for this evening so our princess is finally taking a much deserved rest! God is AMAZING!!!! He is showing His amazing healing power through this adorable little girl that I'm proud to call my baby.
